On leaving higher education, he began his career in animation and film, first in London and then in Montreal, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and Dublin for various studios, including Warner Brothers, Universal Pictures and Walt Disney Feature Films. He also worked as an artist at Neal Adams' Continuity Associates, in New York. Returning to London he completed an intensive course in advertising. Following that he worked at one of Londons biggest advertising agencies, during which he wrote the graphic novel Ring of Roses (Dark Horse Publishing) on his daily one-hour, train commute. Following the critical acclaim of Ring of Roses, he went on to create a James Bond mini-series for Dark Horse with artist John Watkiss. He continues to work in advertising and occasionally also in film. Soho in the Dark is his first collection of short stories.

Watkins Bookshop, tucked away in a beautiful Georgian arcade behind Leicester Square Station, was established over 120 years ago. It’s one of the world’s oldest independent bookshops specializing in mysticism, the occult, oriental religion, psychology, philosophy and contemporary spirituality. They carry a wide range of rare and Antiquarian titles, as well as recommendations and latest releases. I was really chuffed when they stocked my book, Soho in the Dark, a collection of strange short stories, based around the media world of the 1980s and 90s. And I was absolutely delighted when they asked me to sign all the copies of the second edition they’d just received from the publisher.
