KEVIN AND HIS MISSING GLASSES:
A Tale of
a Boy with ADHD
AUTHOR'S NOTE
It is my hope that this book will
become a tool for parents, educators, and healthcare professionals to address
issues surrounding children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactive
Disorder (ADHD). Once a child is diagnosed with ADHD, a plan of treatment,
which may include medication, is prescribed. It important to note that even
with proper treatment a child's behavior may improve, but such children are not
magically cured. Their energy must be channeled into their talents with
understanding to develop a greater sense of self-worth. Trying to change the child's behavior with continued
verbal scolding and/or physical punishment can be mentally detrimental to the
child and follow them into adulthood. Children with ADHD can become
well-adjusted adults with a bright future when given a little help and
compassion.
