'A piece of my mind' was Debbie's first published book of poems. Its first release in January 2001 saw a great public interest with all copies sold! Today, its back better than before, with all original poems plus a bonus of Debbie's latest work-The sole purpose to its creation was to raise awareness to Ovarian Cancer, but also Debbie's personal tribute to her mother, Judy. This Special Edition can now be shared by everyone and hopefully help those going through the grieving process following the loss of a loved one.

Introduction
When I began this journey of writing, it was at a most trying time of
my life-in more ways than one!
Two teenagers and one infant, my husband, and quite a few hurdles
to cross.
My eldest, a daughter had moved out under not so pleasant
circumstances causing much grief & heartache. This was shortly
followed by my eldest boy?s brutal assault at the hands of a bunch of
?thugs?, whilst on his way to school.
In between high school dramas, police and parents trying to sort out
the problem, I never imagined anything could have been worse. I was
so wrong.
"Nanna's Touch"
It was already night
Had he been asleep long?
It didn't matter
He was now wide awake-
He felt so cold
His little body trembled
Shivering beneath the sheets of his bed
A blanket of sorrow shrouded his home
What a miserable winter it had been-
The house lay still and quiet in the darkness
For a moment the little boy saw a light
Was he alone in his room?
For there in the dark, he had felt a hand
His Nanna's hand, placed upon his shoulder-
He would later describe her as 'glowing'
A warmth spread down his body to his toes
A feeling of love had touched him
His Nanna had become his blanket
And she would cover him, forever with her love.
